You Hold Me Now

I know I posted this video last week, but this song has ministered to my heart in such significant ways. Seeing so many people in our lives right now that are hurting and suffering sickness makes us long for a place where these things will not be. Maggy’s parents are struggling to regain their health after broken bones and heart attacks. She and her siblings have been doing all they can to help … even beyond their own struggles and hurts. There are other people in my family hurting in ways I do not necessarily want to write here. And then there are good friends trying to overcome the disease that has plagued their precious son from birth. A friend awaits news that could be great … or could be devastating. Death, disease, depression, financial ruin … despair and fear.

Not that there aren’t good times, laughter, joy … it’s not a total wasteland, this life. But it presses on you, you know? It weighs heavy on your spirit. You can let it direct  your thoughts and take over your heart. But that kind of darkness is not our story. It is the light that shines through that defines us. I’m not happy about the harshness of our environment, but I’m not stuck here either. One day all my fears will be swept away in the light of His embrace and I will know what I cannot seem to grasp now.

So what’s your story? What burden are you bearing? Where do you need prayer in your life now? Bold enough to share it in the comments? Listen to this song, let it’s message soak into your spirit. Allow it to speak to your heart. And if you are so inclined, share with the other readers that which you will be glad to be rid of … on the day when He holds you.

On that day when I see All that You have for me
When I see You face to face There surrounded by Your grace
All my fears swept away In the light of your embrace
When Your love is all I need And forever I am free
Where the streets are made of gold In Your presence healed and whole
Let these songs of heaven rise to you alone

No weeping, no hurt or pain, No suffering You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now, You hold me now

In this life I will stand Through my joy and my pain
Knowing there’s a greater day There’s a hope that never fails
When You’re name is lifted high And forever praises rise
For the glory of Your Name I’m believing for the day
When the wars and violence cease
All creation lives in peace
Let these songs of heaven rise to you alone

No weeping, no hurt or pain No suffering You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now,
You hold me now

For eternity All my heart will give All the glory to Your name
For eternity All my heart will give All the glory to Your name
For eternity All my heart will give All the glory to Your name
For eternity All my heart will give All the glory to Your name

No weeping, no hurt or pain No suffering You hold me now
You hold me now
No darkness no sick or lame
No hiding You hold me now,
You hold me now

Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as in heaven

Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as in heaven

Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as in heaven

Your kingdom come, your will be done here on earth as in heaven

Out Here Hope Remains,

John
