Winter Wonder Slam Tour
Yup, I’m going to the Winter Wonder Slam Tour with Toby Mac, Relient K, Family Force Five and others. I’ll be tweeting from there for sure for those on Twitter. That’s tonight with the youth group. Only I won’t be with the youth group. They bought tickets on the dance floor which means there’s no seats but they do get to crowd surf Toby if he takes a dive. Hopefully I’ll be safe from any crowd surfing enjoying the show from farther back! Toby Mac is an amazingly talented performer. He has managed at his age (same age as me!) to remain connected to the youth culture. He produces music that most of them enjoy but with excellent messages. He is a Christian dad, and you can hear in his lyrics his desire to point the young people to Jesus Christ. Plus he has an amazing stage show!
Cold and wet here, but we saw no snow. My brother, however, got a few inches in Bay City on the Texas Gulf Coast.
Yesterday I ran across the coolest web interface called MONITTER. When you go there you can submit up to three words. The app will search Twitter posts for those words. For example, yesterday when it started snowing in Houston, I added the word “snow”. The Twitter posts coming from Houston were hilarious as they expressed surprise at the unexpected snowfall. I’m sure there are useful things you can use this for, but I’ll have to experiment further with it.
Maggy’s coming back home today! Since Sunday afternoon she has been at the hospital with her mother. Her mom was moved to a rehab unit at a local hospital there yesterday. So Maggy’s coming back home. Say a prayer for her safety please. Also pray for us as we take about 30 young people to the concert tonight. Jason Barnard, our Family Minister, does an awesome job with the young people. Two young people gave their lives to Christ this week and were baptized. Joyous news indeed!
