This morning mother had surgery in New Orleans. As planned, they removed several lymph nodes. There was some difficulty in finding one of the lymph nodes in particular that they were interested in, and this caused a longer than usual surgery. They will be sent to the lab for testing, however the doctor is confident that none of the lymph nodes were cancerous. This is the best news we could hope for. There will be a period of deep soreness as she recovers. A balloon was placed and also a drain … these will be removed in-office. The balloon will be replaced with a recepticle of some kind wherein a radiation packet will be inserted for five days. I believe radiation treatments will begin Wednesday. Thank you for your prayers. Every step of the way we have received the best possible news. Praise God for his goodness!
