There are two days during the course of the year when John Robert is on my mind in stronger ways than everyday. The day he was born. The day he died.
Today was the day he was born. I have a lot of memories of that day. Not that I was there. I pretty much missed the whole thing. I had been out of town, he came about a month early, they were at a hospital in another city whose location I did not know (before GPS and cell phones!). But I did get there. Friends Otis and Sandra Bowman were with Maggy. Always grateful for that.
There’s a part of me that thinks memories are all we have left, but that is not true. John Robert is just as alive today as he ever was … perhaps even more so. Beyond our memories is hope, expectation, and anticipation of seeing him again. This is only possible through the power of Jesus Christ. I encourage everyone who loved John Robert to give your life to Jesus … He will bring us all together again one day.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.~1 Corinthians 15:57
