One Year Alone With God

one-year-alone-with-god-160x250One of the daily devotional books I have enjoyed is Ava Pennington’s ONE YEAR ALONE WITH GOD. She has done a great job of explaining the various names of God in Scripture. Beyond that, though, she has written very practical reflections on each one of them for daily contemplation. I noticed that this book is currently on sale in the Kindle store … so pick yours up for $1.99! I highly recommend it!

God’s name is as mighty today as it was the day He revealed it to Moses. The economy may falter, natural disasters may cut swaths of destruction across the earth, and relationships may crumble, but we know and trust in the name of the Lord our God.Everything else will disappoint, but He is Yahweh, and He will never fail.

Ava’s author page on Facebook is HERE. Every day she posts a sentence or two about the nature and identity of God. Excellent.

Think about all God has invested in us-salvation, spiritual gifts, His grace, His mercies. What “yield” is God seeing? Sour grapes, or the fruit of obedience and spiritual growth?Lord, thank You for planting me in Your vineyard. Help me respond by producing fruit that honors You.How would my Gardener evaluate the fruit I yield? How can I be more fruitful?

I hope you pick up her book if you do not already have it. I gave away a few of them as Christmas gifts!
