Monday on the Coast

I think we had a really good day yesterday. Just over one hundred were in attendance. The podcast of the sermon should be posted shortly. A group from the Athens Christian Church in Lexington, KY were present with us, as they prepared for a week of work. Their youth minister, Barry Wethington, led us in our opening prayer. He will have a few words to say to us Wednesday night, July 4.

Maggy and I spent Sunday afternoon together. We went to Kirklands and bought two chairs for my office. Unfortunately I have to put them together. (Anyone who knows me understands the red flags that sends up!) Then we went to see the new Bruce Willis movie, Live Free or Die Hard. Though I am not a big Bruce Willis fan, I had a lot of fun watching this movie. What other movie actor can say he outwitted an F-14 fighter jet while driving an 18-wheeler rig?

Today I helped a little at breakfast, then walked a mile with a friend, and am now noticing that half the day is gone…whew… time races, doesn’t it? Tonight is the addiction recovery class. We had a few ads in the paper last week, so maybe we’ll have some new students. Also tomorrow night begins the divorce recovery class. I hope that some will take advantage of this opportunity to cope with a very painful time of life.

I have been involved in a project to raise some money for Gulf Coast Bible Camp. My goal was to find 15 people who would donate $200 each to the Camp. I didnt’ mention it on the blog (that I recall) … but was able to find 14 pretty quickly. If you believe in the camp ministry and would like to help out our camp, let me know!
