How can I make a difference in my own community? There are many organizations doing great work to relieve the suffering and bring hope to the hopeless. I encourage you to check these out. I am positively certain that these are not ALL of the resources in our community. Feel free to add more in the comments! Mostly, though, get involved in at least one of them!
Life Choices Pregnancy Resource Center is a local, faith-based, non-profit organization offering hope and help to those experiencing a crisis pregnancy. (LINK)
The Center for Children and Families is a way to become an advocate for children who often have no voice at all. (LINK)
Family Promise of Ouachita assists homeless children and their families experiencing homelessness in a 30 – 90 day program. (LINK)
Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana always needs volunteers to help out with a variety of tasks to help get food to the needy in our area. (LINK)

There are many civic organizations and churches that do great work in our community as well.
I encourage you to make a difference in Monroe. If every Christian in Monroe/West Monroe were involved in a volunteer organization, what an amazing amount of good could be accomplished!
