Friday on the Coast

Today we say goodbye to the people I can only refer to as “angels” (see last post). This morning about 4:00 a.m. Jake Gorham and family loaded up and headed back to Pennsylvania. They will go from our relatively mild winter into snow flurries and a potential winter storm gearing up. They are quick to claim no credit for themselves. The Blanchard Church of Christ made it possible for them to come and work. I can imagine that the leaders of that church did not hesitate to send them here, after observing their work ethic. One of the teenage girls in their group interviewed several people this week for a senior paper. She is a sophomore. I’m impressed with her foresight and interest. Kirt Caslar and crew will work this morning and then take a tour of the area. This afternoon they will head back to Troy, Pennsylvania. They had a bonfire on the beach last night. I will miss this group so much. They are just the sweetest kids on earth. This is their third trip to the Coast. Kirt thinks they might get another one together at some point. The next crew I know about will be coming January 26 from  Granny White Pike Church of Christ in Nashville. I seem to remember David saying someone was coming in next week, but I do not know who it is.

Friday is the day I try to take “off”, but I seldom do. I do have a plan for today and I will tell you about that in my next post.

I guess this is more of a partial post. I may add something later.
