7 Days of Prayer: Tuesday

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” ~John 8:31-32

Eternal Father who sent your son full of grace and truth, please always draw us to the beauty of your Word and the truth to be found within. We claim the promised freedom that comes from continuing in your Word. We delight in your Word. We desire to fill our minds with powerful words of truth to guide us and teach us your ways.

“…The household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.” ~1 Timothy 3:15

I pray Father that our church will treasure your word so that we might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11).  When we assemble Lord with you in our midst we pray that every word of every song and prayer and lesson be a reflection of our commitment to glorify you.

From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. ~Psalm 119:104

God there are many traps the Enemy has set to lead us away from you and your will. Help us to love your truth, love your Kingdom, love one another, and to turn away from every false way that would cause us to reject you.

I pray, Lord, that our church would be a beacon of truth in the storm of Satan’s deceit and lies found throughout our community. The traps of humanism and atheism that deny your presence and power and exalt the created over the Creator (Romans 1:24-32). I pray that you will embolden us to proclaim Jesus as Lord and help people know your welcoming arms.

Lord, we love your word. We recognize that believers who love you deeply have come to some different conclusions about a variety of issues. I pray that we will be focused on the ONE ISSUE … the Lordship of Jesus … and love and accept one another, treat one another respectfully, and find unity and strength so that the world will know we are your disciples.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”~John 13:34-35

Father we believe your teaching that if we reject our brothers and sisters and live in turmoil and conflict, we are not loving the truth you give us in this passage So convict our hearts and give us zeal for your will.

We are not ashamed to follow you Lord and we need your strength to live for you in boldness and grace.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “ But the righteous man shall live by faith.” ~Romans 1:16-17

And so, Lord, on this Tuesday we appeal to the truth of who Jesus is, that the Bible is your Word, and that We are to Love all of our Brothers and Sisters. Through these convictions may the world see the beauty of your truth and join us on our path to heaven.

In Jesus Name, Amen.
